I LIKE TO THINK OF THESE STUDIES/PAINTINGS AS ABSTRACT/ FINE ART WORK THAT HAS NO QUESTION OF BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY. ITS GOT THE PAPER TO GO WITH IT, THE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS WHY IT SHOULD BE UP ON WALLS OF GALLERIES, HOMES AND EASELS TOO. SO WHY SHOULDNT IT? ITS A QUICK GLANCE AT LIFE. I'M NOT TRYING TO CAPTURE A LIVE FIGURE STANDING FOR THREE HOURS PERFECTLY STILL SO I CAN ATEMPT TO PAINT IT, AS PRATT MENTIONED IT IN CLASS TODAY. I THINK THATS BORING ANYWAY. PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE MOST PART I DIDNT PICK THE FIGURE OR THE POSE AND FRANKLY IM NOT THAT GOOD AT PAINTING THE FIGURE WELL. bUT IM NOT GONNA STOP PAINTING. I DONT CARE IF YOUR GOOD AT FIGURE OR LANDSCAPE OR DOING WHAT YOUR DO, PAINTING IS PAINTING, ART IS ART AND YOU ARE YOU. HAVE FUN AND STOP LIVING IN THE RINGLING BUBBLE OF THE BATTLE BETWEEN FINE ART AND ILLUSTRATION. BUT ANYWAY BACK TO THE PAINTING, THEY ARE PAINTED FROM LIFE IN 20 MINS WITH A PALETTE KNIFE ON UNPRIMED MASONITE FOR THE MOST PART. iF THE SITUATION CALLS FOR IT, I'M GONNA PUT DOWN STRAIGHT PAINT FROM THE TUBE BECAUSE THATS WHAT I FELL IT NEEDS IN A SPLIT SECOND. BY THINKING THIS WAY IM SOLVING A BUNCH OF PROBLEMS IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. YOU MY NOT LIKE THESE PAINTINGS OR METHOD BUT THE POINT IS NOT PAINT PERFECT MASTERPIECES BUT TO GET THE POINT ACROSS TO THE VIEWER. THIS MEANS GOING WITH YOUR INSTINCTS AND NOT TRYING TO SECOND GUESS YOURSELF ALL THE TIME. THE BEAUTY OF WORKING WITH THE KNIFE IS THAT YOU CAN ALWAYS LAY SOMETHING ON TOP OF A STROKE AND IT WILL ALWAYS STAY CLEAN AND FRESH.
PEOPLE DONT SIT STILL AND LIFE DOSENT WAIT FOR YOU. SO PAINT FAST, IT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU A STEADFAST PROBLEM SOLVER.
