Gil Elvgren Portrait

My Aunt Joan was good friends with Gil Elvgren, the famous Pin Up artist. She was going to be one of his calender girls but he gut real sick and ending up dying. But this is a real portrait that he did for her and he charged her 300 dollars for it. He lived around town, Siesta Key to be exact, and he would frequent the Cresant Club. She said that his house was cover from carpet to ceiling with drawings and paintings. enjoy.

Palette Knife Studies

All these paintings were done using a pallete knife and mostly a large one. I only used three colors Indian Yellow, Prussian Blue, Alizarin Crimson. These were done very rapidly mainly just considering shape and composition. these are only aproximatly 3in by 5inches.
