Plein Air Painting
It was very overcast that day but I was determined to paint outside. this was halfway though the painting. All these paintings to me are gateways to what I will do for as long as I can. Plein air to me is the mack daddy of painting. It shows your whole process of doing a painting in one hour, give or take.

Scratchboards
the hat was a pure scratch project. It was my first board and there was no piliminary line to start from, I just started scratching away the light. With the brushes I tranferd a drawing with white pastel. To me, the pastel white go in the way of the value, so I wiped it away halfway threw the peice.

my parents were going to throw out this metal bench, so I took on the challenge of bringing it back to life and them some. I sanded and grinded it in most of the major areas. the curved braces under the seat are hand beaten out of steel rod, same with the spiral. The feet were created from a blacksmith forge.....piece in progress.
