Trip to Telluride, Boulder Colorado.

Hello'

Jane and I went to Colorado to drive Mark English's paintings to his gallery in Telluride. It was a wild ride. The senery was outstanding and the snow capped mountains are the best. At the start though Kansas wasnt so good to look at. I was excited when we reached the state of Colorado, but when we crossed the line, all I could think of was, "Man, I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little bit more rockyer than this! That John Denver is full of shit man!"

Enjoy the photos and thanks for viewing.

We also have a sink room with all of our books in it and then a whole other part, a huge woodshop. Hope you enjoy the pictures. O yeah, and a huge dark room that we havent set foot in.

Dorothy Says Hi!

So Jane and I have moved out to Kansas City to apprentice with the Englishs and Brent W. Dorothy says hello. We are getting settled in, our house is badass, we have a badass studio space, a badass woodshop space, and no neighborhood concerns- if you know what I mean. Now I can ride my bike down the block and not have to worry about it getting stolen. We love it. Oh yeah, we also went to a fashion show, it was packed and hot. I hope you enjoy the photos- I will post more on the inside of the house later.

The Polo Grill Show was a HIT!

The first comment I want to say is that this exhibition of my work went extremely well! I met a lot of new people, sold some work, and made lots of new patrons as well as friends. A huge thanks to the Klauber Family!

To the people that don't know, I have recently gotten into the game of Polo, and I have been going to the games falling in love with the subject of the Horse and Rider. After about a week of drawing the game, I started to paint the ex-derby-horses and the wild riders, flailing around with their sticks. Also, I wanted to be the next illustrator commisioned to paint the next polo club poster for the 2010 season, which I have been commisioned! Bart Forbes has done this poster also so its an honor to be apart of a national assignment. I was introduced to the POLO GRILL owners and they loved everything I should them. Next thing I knew, I had a show in about a months time. So the last month of college has been a crasy one.

All and all the show ended up working out great. I pushed myself to the edge with getting alot of good solid pieces together, altogether I had 30 plus paintings, ranging from 4 x 6 in. to 3 x 4 feet. Over half of the works in the show sold and other commissions and opportunities have arisen. Thank you to all the ringling friends that showed their support and a speacial thanks to the AWESOMELY AWESOME GEORGE PRATT for his kindness and photographs with the new 35mm.

Airplane Paintings

A couple weeks ago, Jane and I were accepted into an International Paint the Town Competition in Downtown Saint Petersburg Fl. Hodges Soileau was also there in attendance. I found the composition of the airport very abstract and out of the ordinary, so I painted it. The little black one got an Honorable Mention. So I'm happy about that.... enjoy.

Your Invited to My Polo Show!

I have been invited by the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, to exhibit my Polo work. They are mostly paintings that range from 4 inches to 6 feet. Mediums include acrylic, latex, and oil. The show is May 5th, at 5pm. I know this will be a crazy week due to the Senior Illustration Show and Best of Ringling but I'm just trying to go out with a bang. I hope you can make it to the show!

Old American Paintings

I drove up to West Virginia for two days last week to see my brother perform in GUYS AND DOLLS. While there, my dad brought up some old American paintings that I grew up. Its amazing to me that I was fortunate enough to be raised in a house filled with American antiques such as furniture, paintings, and firearms. Most people don't ever think about this but anything American made before the revolution was highly illegal. Sorry for the bad photos but these were taken in my brother's conference room after an hour of sifting through the warehouse. One painting in particular is a real Andrew Jackson painting that my father has had for years. I love the paint application and the apparent quality of time put in to the canvases. Early American paintings have a quality in them that is not in many paintings today.

more on this later...hope you enjoy!
